Honesty First
If your home isn't eligible for a particular grant, I'll tell you. If the timeline is going to take longer than expected, I'll say so. I'd rather have an honest conversation than a disappointed client.
Not in a "fill in this form and we'll email you in 5–7 working days" kind of way. In a "let me actually figure out exactly what you're entitled to and then handle the whole thing" kind of way. That's doneforyou.ie. That's me.
A few years ago, my parents decided to retrofit their home in County Clare. They'd heard about SEAI grants — everyone had — and they were excited. A new heat pump, some proper insulation at last, maybe solar panels. Their house had been expensive to heat for years, and this felt like the moment to finally fix it.
Then the process started.
They rang SEAI. They were referred to a portal. The portal required a contractor survey first. The contractor they called wasn't registered with SEAI. The registered contractors had a six-week wait. Then there were forms — forms about energy ratings, about contractor registration numbers, about grant codes they'd never heard of.
Six months later, they'd made one upgrade and left €4,000 in unclaimed grants on the table — not because they weren't eligible, but because nobody had explained the system to them.
I was furious. But mostly, I was sad. Because my parents are intelligent, capable people. They just didn't know the rules of a system that hadn't been designed for them.
That's when I decided to build doneforyou.ie.
I've spent the last six years working in energy consultancy and project management, specifically in the Irish residential energy upgrade sector. I know the SEAI grant process inside out — every category, every combination, every quirk in the application system.
But more importantly, I know how to explain it. In plain English. With patience, and maybe a cup of tea's worth of conversation.
I built doneforyou.ie to be the service I wish had existed when my parents needed it. A knowledgeable friend who picks up the phone. Who handles the complicated bits. Who's honest about what you'll get and what you won't. Who stays with you from your first question to your final grant payment.
I'm based in Ireland. I've worked with homeowners in every county. And I still personally oversee every client case — because your home isn't a ticket number to me. It's your home.
The principles that guide everything we do — from your first enquiry to your final grant payment.
If your home isn't eligible for a particular grant, I'll tell you. If the timeline is going to take longer than expected, I'll say so. I'd rather have an honest conversation than a disappointed client.
SEAI grants are funded by Irish taxpayers, for Irish homeowners. You are already entitled to this money. My job is simply to make sure you actually receive it.
Yes, there's paperwork. But you're a person, not a process. I take time to understand your home, your situation, and your goals before recommending anything.
I care about Ireland's climate goals. Every warm home, every installed heat pump, every square metre of insulation is a small win for a bigger picture. That matters to me — not just as a business, but as a person who lives here too.
I return calls. I reply to emails. If something changes with your application, you'll hear it from me — not from a letter in the post three weeks later.
Think of us as your personal SEAI grant guide, project manager, and occasional paperwork hero — all in one.
We start by finding out exactly which grants your home qualifies for, based on its current energy rating, construction type, and your planned upgrades.
We prepare and submit your SEAI grant application, making sure every detail is correct the first time (fewer delays, faster approvals).
We connect you with SEAI-registered contractors in your area — vetted, reliable, and familiar with the grant process themselves.
We coordinate your technical survey appointment and liaise between the assessor and SEAI on your behalf.
We monitor your application's progress and follow up with SEAI when needed. (Let's just say we're persistent on your behalf.)
We stay with you until your grant is paid and confirmed. That's when we consider the job done.
"Aria is the person everyone needs in their corner when dealing with SEAI. She knew things about the application we never would have figured out ourselves. Professional, warm, and absolutely brilliant at what she does."
"I'd been going in circles on the SEAI website for months. Contacted doneforyou.ie on a Tuesday, had a clear plan by Thursday. Honestly felt like a weight had been lifted."
"We're retired and the whole online grant process seemed impossible to us. Aria handled everything. She even phoned us with updates without us having to chase her. Old-fashioned service — in the best possible way."
Our track record speaks for itself — 200+ homes helped, €1.2M+ in grants secured.
No — doneforyou.ie is fully independent. We're not SEAI, and SEAI doesn't endorse us. We're a private consulting service that specialises in navigating the SEAI grant system on your behalf. Think of us as expert navigators — not government officials.
Not at all. We work with homeowners across all 26 counties. Everything except the physical survey (which is done by a local registered contractor) can be done remotely, so geography is never a barrier.
No — while older homes often have more to gain, we work with all types of Irish residential properties. Whether it's a 1970s semi-d or a 2005 build, there may be grants available to you.
I'd love to hear about your home. Start with the free eligibility check — no commitment, no sales call, just a clear picture of what you could claim.
